Little S is doing much better. His stitches under his chin are all gone and he's just left with a little red mark and some Frankenstein stitch marks. He's suddenly turned into a real boy overnight, running and bashing into things at top speed. I think we'll have to buy him a helmet to wear on a permanent basis. He's going to lose some marbles otherwise. My mom is still here. She always does a three or four week visit with us which I just love. What's not so great is our lack of an extra bedroom. Seb and I are sleeping on the floor upstairs with Little S. That's okay though. I wouldn't trade having her here for better digs. I'm so happy to have her around.
We've been running around so much that I haven't spent much time blogging or much else for that matter. We spent last week in Lyon, shopping, sightseeing and trying to save a bedraggled, little white dog some crazy lady was literally dragging around on a leash against his will. I don't think i will sleep for the next fifty years thinking about the image of that poor abused dog. His tail was rotting! It was horrible and I made a huge scene to try and get the police to come but it didn't do anything but draw a crowd of tourists who must have thought I was the crazy lady.
Seb is on vacation this week but of course he's working on the house. The poor guy finally has time off and we have the worst weather in years. It's 14 degrees Celsius and we're all in sweaters in mid August. My flowers are all losing their blooms. The weather this year has everyone scratching their heads. Anyway, Seb had hoped to redo and expand the back balcony into a huge terrace this week. I think he'd hoped for better weather than the cold, windy rain and muck we have today.
I think if the weather improves we'll all be heading to Chamonix to see le Mer de Glace and l'Aiguille du Midi. My mom isn't much of a mountain person but we feel a need to "take some air" as the French say so she'll be forced to lace up some hikers and walk a little. In the end she'll like it and we'll just wear some ear plugs while she complains all afternoon.

Muppet saw Little S over my shoulder and INSISTS, rather vehemently, that they play together. What is up with this independance thing?
I'm so happy you're having a great time with your Mom--almost makes me miss mine...almost.
Have a wonderful time with MOM!! Enjoy and give her a big hug from all of us that are far away from our mummies...
