I talk about cookbooks, or at least try to

I'm throwing my hat in the arena of video blogging. As you will see, toddlers and video making are a retched combo. I'm pretty sure mother's who are brain surgeons can conceivably bring their children to work and still conduct the surgery while the children run around at their feet "stop it Damien!"..."scalpel please"..."I don't want to have to say it again"..."suction" Women invented multitasking. We are so good at this. I surprise even myself sometimes.

Very cool! I like your little helper too. ;o) When you are cooking out of your Southern Living mag, are you able to find all the ingredients here in France? I know some things can be really hard to find. I am not much of a cook myself, but I love to eat! lol I need to really start cooking more considering I am going to be a mommy soon. Right now, I can just about manage pasta and chicken...but not much else!

Thanks Alison. I stole the idea from some blogger chick in France with a pierced nose :p When are you going to do another one anyway!? Long time no see...*hint, hint*

D I'm pretty good about substitutions by now, just ask me. If you like cooking you'll learn all about how to cook in France. It's impossible to avoid. The country is culinary haven!

oooh so exciting to see and hear you! I can detect a little French you must have picked up from living there in that accent of yours! Lovely to see little S too. More please ;)

LOL - so cute. It cracks me up a bit and yes we get to see you. We have the same bible too up here in Canada. WE got ours from our aunt and I'm learning so much from that!

I love reading those books too. Just wish they didn't cost $12 or more here to just pick one up... LOL...

I love the region of Montreux cuisine and the area too... It is great! :)

You have to keep doing these little videos...quite cute and entertaining! =o)

In the second video I sensed a bit of a French accent when you said a couple of words. Do you speak only in French to your husband, or is it a bit of both?

That was fun to watch. My cooking bibles are Betty Crocker and LaRousse de la Cuisine. My family sends me Cooking Light, too light for me sometimes, and Taste of Home, which I like to read for the touch Americana nostalgia the stories give me, but I rarely cook up one of their recipes. I am always picking up french cooking magazines at the grocery store, where the majority of my ideas now come from.

This was different! I had planned to spend Sunday morning catching up on reading blogs and got to sit back and watch you--it makes you seem much closer and more real than a blog entry -- interesting!

My American cooking bible is Betty Crocker, like Meredith above, and the French one is Françoise Bernard, but I too have a zillion cookbooks and I wish somebody would meme me about them!

I think I might be tempted to abuse a switch like that.
