Si tu a la joie au coeur tap les mains

Tuesday was Little S's last day at his garderie and they had a farewell picnic in the evening. With all of the rain the picnic got moved to inside the garderie instead of by Lac Léman where it's usually held. It was still really nice. We nosy folks (that's me naturally) got to check out all the fathers, some fitting their partners well and some a little odd. I really like all the parents most of whom I got to work with in my twice a month volunteer stints though and all in all the whole six months was a great experience for Little S and me.

There was a lot of wine flowing and then one of the musician dads broke out his guitar and sang some of the kids songs. In true French style everyone started singing along. That's one thing you learn when you move to France--French people love to sing loudly with strangers. You however will have a hard time learning these songs so you can never really join in.

Little S got some parting gifts: a best of cd of his music with all the kids singing and a small laminated poster with four photos of him, his friends and his teacher. It was really sweet.

I think we'll miss this place.

Oh it was fun. Little S loves his pictures and his cd and he's been carrying them around the house all week.
