This morning I drove Little S to school in it. I was completely paranoid with all the crazy Mexican intersections without stop signs. I just stopped completely at each one and let everyone else go. When we got to his school I could not for the life of me figure out how to get the back doors to automatically unlock. I felt really dumb because the directrice of the school was trying to get him out and was looking at me like "uh, open the door please."
"Yeah, just give me sec while I read the manual."

We bought a Civic back in August. It's great.
There is a setting that will unlock the doors when you turn off the ignition. We had to look around the manual for it, and then we had to closely follow the instructions, which are different depending on if it's an automatic or manual transmission.
Anyway, it involves putting the key in the ignition and waiting for beeps.
Good luck!
New cars these days are very beepy. It´s a little but annoying.
lol - yes technology! congrats on a great looking car though!
They are beepy!
I just bought a new car too. I was torn between a Honda and a VW and ended up going with the VW because I was trading in a beloved VW and it made me feel like less of a traitor getting another.
But both of my siblings drive Hondas and swear by them. So maybe next time I'll be a traitor.
Enjoy the new car. The new car paranoia goes away after awhile, albeit VERY slowly. I still catch myself inspecting it for scratches.
Seb picked up Little S from school and he had the same problem popping the lock on the back doors. I dont feel so bad.
Jennifer - we considered getting a used bug as our second car but we couldn´t fit the car seats. How fun! A bug in Mexico!! (and easy to get parts for it
Alison and I bought the same Honda(year, make, model, color) even though we didn't know it at the time!! Now you're the third in our little blogsphere to go for the Honda. Is it a Civic or Accord? 2007 or 2008? Ours (that's funny to say--OURS!)is a slightly darker gray. I do believe I can speak for the both of us when I say that we love our Hondas! Unbelieveable mpg, fun to drive, smooth.
If it makes you feel better--I got my 2007 about a year ago, and only recently actually sat down to figure out the unlock button!! All year I've been using the key to unlock the doors!
(OK, OK, you can all stop laughing now.)
It´s a crv, sort of like a mini SUV. And it´s new as in new-new! It´s a 2008. We heard they were not raising the price one peso on the 2008 so we waited two months to get it.
That´s funny how no one can figure out the door locks!
