Do you love flowers? What is your relationship with flowers? Which flowers do you love?
I´m not sure why the idea of photographing flowers really appeals to me lately. It just does and has been for the past week as I stop the car and run to ditches and medians with my camera. Mexico is alive with flowers! So, eight days in flowers is my new project. Why eight days? I have no idea but it sounded like a good number to me and I like that number the way it spins around.
I want to keep photographing so excuse me while I invent projects, dig up old "that is so last year" Flickr projects and even ask Little S for ideas (a week of red L*ght*n*ng McQu**n cars perhaps?) I will still write regular posts but the flowers will perfume the corners of my blog for several days. I´m sure you won't mind unless you're one of those grumpy people who hates Valentine's Day or something.
This is a photo from last week, lilies blooming in my front yard. They were planted by the infamous gardener who has not been seen since. They just came out of their little pods last week, lovely. This isn´t the first flower photo--the challenge to find new and lovely flowers starts tomorrow so I will post the first photo on Tuesday.
And okay, I'm doing this project but I´m a real flower nerd. If I misidentify something I strongly urge you to correct me in a pleasant and friendly tone. I will be happy to learn more about what it is I'm seeing.

I love flowers, but I have a black thumb. My favorite flower is the tulip, but for my upcoming wedding, I think I will carry gerbera daisies.
So I will probably just enjoy your flower photos rather than correct their names. Hope that's okay with you. ;-)
I love flowers. My all time favorite is the red rose; but after that it is the Rose of the Desert plant here in mexico that I really love.
