Eight days in bloom: 1

I found these yesterday growing wild in a residential median, surrounded by broken beer bottles and plastic sacks. What are they? A desert wildflower of some sort? From a distance a little sea of lavender pink stalks invite you, and on closer inspections "buds aplenty, buds galore."

I love flowers like these,--lanky, full-weighted with round buds and rich textured stalks. Can you see the desert hills in the backgroud? The colors seem to match that earthen brown so vividly. This is Mexico you're looking at. Isn´t it lovely?

It is lovely. I also like the double horizon line, and the angle of the stalk of the flowers mirroring the stalk of the tree.

I noticed that too after uploading. It was just a happy accident and why it stood out as my favorite of the day.
