On the road,-- again

We've relaxed and now it's time to hit the road again and head home. Well home meaning back to the hotel where we live like rock stars, ordering room service and milling around in the hotel sauna. It's a strange life. We only have a week of this crazy life left though before we can move into our little gite rurale for a month. It's temporary lodging in a country house connected to the grounds of a chateau. It was almost impossible finding anything up until now so we are really grateful and so fortunate to have this place. Ahh, what lovely pictures we will take while we stay there. We have been lucky about staying near chateaux lately!

We are also waiting for word on our house. It's a scary step to take and although it works well on paper we are a little afraid that it won't work in real life. It require lots of sacrifices on our part, particularly financial onces, but we're not afraid to jump in feet first in order to get this wonderful little slice of a dream. We're ready to take the plunge. I mean... well, I guess we are.

Hopefully if the house and all its loans and paperwork come though we can move in at the beginning of October. The owners are very nice people and are even willing to let us occupy the house as low budget renters while we wait for the months of paperwork to go through. French inheritance laws are such that after a person dies a very profound research is made to uncover any missing relatives. When we bought our first house it took nearly four months and in that time it was discovered that madame had a son from a previous marriage. That soap opera tied up things for a long time.

I hope we'll have internet and phone installed after the first three weeks of September. We're looking at internet providers now and hoping that we can get everything hooked up right away. Until then I bid you adieu!

I'll miss you. Good luck with everything, the house, the gite rurale, getting settled, moving again, all of it.

I can't wait to read all about your adventures and look at all your pictures.
