Here's our old door in the scrap pile. It's amazing how close the match is. No one even realized we changed it.
These pics are part of a dossier we presented to the mairie for our convocation. An anonymous neighbor told them that we were building on to our house without a permit, presented photos of our driveway and set the ball rolling. It was completely untrue, but now we've had to present all our projects and have them reviewed by the BdF. We'll certainly have to thank that neighbor next time we see him. Too bad he didn't report the guy up the street who installed a giant white pvc door on his house. Oh that's right it's the mayor's nephew so he wouldn't want to upset his boss.

The people in your neighborhood sound lovely. What a thoughtful gesture!
The door IS identical! That's amazing.
What's the little house-shaped thingy in the middle? It's cute.
I love the front of your house (what we can see)! Your neighbors would get along fine with mine:)
Actually I have really nice neighbors and we know nearly all of them pretty well by now which makes it easy to know which one is the tattletale,--the unfriendly one who works with the mayor.
Jennifer - I think it's a little birdhouse and on the old door it's where the handle sat. The new door has a modern handle, the only change, but we kept the birdhouse design.
Beautiful door. It will blow over with time. Maybe it was the neighbor who didn't want you taking out the ugly fence?
L - no it's not them they're really calm--and totally buried in projects themselves! we know who it is...everyone has a problem with this same person so we're just having our turn, sigh.
Yeah, the old and new door is almost the same. The only difference is the color of the new door, which is a little darker than the old one. I think the old door is still good to recycle. You can turn it into useful furniture for your home, like a table or chairs. If you want, you can transform it into a picture gallery where you can pin some old photos. That’s a very good additional attraction to your home.
You have a lovely house exterior – that door alone is pretty. Perhaps, it’s why that unknown neighbor is envious of you. Anyway, forget him. You are free to do whatever that will improve your house’s appeal as long as you know you’re not doing anything against the rules. Roosevelt Franklin @ Clear Choice Windows and More
