My good friend Dee came to visit this weekend. It was a long weekend, one of the many we get to enjoy in May in case you're wondering why everyone is able to flit about so freely. It did rain, ... a lot actually, but we did the best we could with what we had. In fact we did a lot more than we thought we would, fitting in a goofy shopping trip to the local Emmaus to look for costumes for her upcoming party, a walk in the countryside, a swimming session at the local pool, and a trip to the medieval village of Yvoire.
Dee never goes anywhere without her little dog Ella, much to the dismay of my
Dee always brings little gifts: wine from the Cave de Prisse where she was once a dedicated employee and belated birthday gifts for us. She often brings baked goodies too, as her new passion seems to be the fourneau where she churns out unusual little cakes and her specialty, cherry clafoutis.
In reading my blog Dee once remarked about the fact that I call her Dee on my blog and not by her real name Dorcas. This was only to protect her identity as I do with a lot of my friends here in case they end up getting Googled, or in case they haven't yet discovered my blog!
I'll probably still call her Dee around here, just out of habit though but now you all know her real name.

A real name on a blog? Doesn't Dorcas like the romantic notion of a pen name? ;-)
