Snags

We are a little delayed in our trip to France and it looks like we´ll be leaving closer to Christmas or worst case scenario after the New Year. The passport has been delayed now three days and I hope she gets it at all. I think she will but we have to wait until we have it in our hands before booking tickets. Knowing Mexico like we do now any number of things can happen. We have to wait patiently.

The other thing is that Seb´s company said no to paying for the tickets. We get a family visit home each year paid for by the company and since they told him just this month that he has to take a week of his precious two weeks of vacation* at Christmas we said we´d better take off now. Besides this he has business to take care of in France and they´d be sending him off again for a week or two after the holidays leaving me alone with two kids. But they said the tickets were too expensive! He was really bugged by this because all the expats including the person who balked are going home for Christmas, most to Europe. So we went on line last night and found tickets for at least half that price right away. We hope they approve them. The price is much more reasonable.

* he went from having six weeks plus lots of holidays to having two weeks--hard for a Frenchman!
