Eight days in bloom: 2

I don't know why but the prettiest flowers grow in the worst places, --abandoned lots, highway medians, next to stop signs. Take these daisies, growing in every scrap lot in town. I think they're lovely and proud standing defiantly amidst all the grafitti and weeds, not to mention that imposing Stonehenge formation. I saw them from a block away, at least ten clusters in this tiny, littered spot of land.

I get lots of stares and all out gawking for taking these photos. The household help stops sweeping, the contruction worker stands poised with brick in hand and the police in the VW bug circles the block. "What is she taking a picture of?" "Is there something I should know about that scrappy abandoned lot?" "Is she trying to steal something?"

No, just taking flower pictures.

At the end of the day my camera is full of beautiful colors and images and I'm pleased when I upload everything and inspired with my finds. I´m torn trying to decide which one is the favorite, which one I want to write about and why. In the end though there really is just one, right.

A giant painted rock against yellow daisies-- my delightful discovery from yesterday.

Okay, so your days of different photos have inspired me. I took my 3year old and we explored our property looking for pretty flowers. Our gardens are amazing, my husband has spent alot of time planting amazing things. I have no idea what this is called, it is a vine that grows up our mailbox. We await its blooms every spring. I hope you can see it. I am new to Flickr so bare with me!! We are going to try and take a daily picture of something, we'll give it 30 days like you did!!

Yay...so happy someone else will do it. I stole the idea from Soulemama who explains well where she got her inspiration for doing it (and definitely helped me decide what to shoot). The idea is to take a lot of pictures and then choose the best one of the lot at the end of the day (the difficult part). I averaged about 40 photos a day and maybe had three a day I liked.

I 'll follow along and add you to my Flickr contacts. The header on your blog is amazing btw! Is that where you live? Wow...speechless!

Don't I wish I lived there!!! No, our small town is far from that fab! But I am going to try and take Fin around and let her help me pick our fave flowers. As for the photo on the blog, it was one of the templates I found that would accomodate my pictures!!! LOL! I am working on the blog thing, my aunt has been on me to do so. I am a real newbie!!! So no laughing!
