The morning light in Mexico is almost healing in its intensity. How can you not be inspired to run out and try to capture that magical moment in the day here when everything seems to wake up and turn towards this beautiful light, so perfect and divine.
The Mayans revered the sun and Kinich Ahau was the Sun god, most often shown with jaguar-like features. The jaguar was one of the most prevelent icons in Mayan culture representing power and strength, much like the sun. Kinich Ahau was also called Ah Xoc Kin, and was associated with poetry and music.
The sun is the center of everything in Mexican life, --beauty, tourism, habitat, mood. It´s almost as if the people today are still in reverence of the sun,-- fretting if there are temperature changes or extended rainy days and placing their trust in the sun that it will be ever constant and dependable day after day. Living here this past year I have begun to feel the same way. I think I will miss my sun worshipping.

Once again a fabulous shot - keep it up.
Another great flower! Does anyone know what it is? Just curious!
There are so many species of wildflowers that I´ve given up trying to identify them. I would love it if someone knew or at least knew a user friendly site with good pictures.
Excellent photo!
Thanks!
