We bought some new paints last week and did lots of pinky-purple paintings, --far too many to count! Painting means that Little S is calm and occupied and has found his special place. I guess that´s what it is for me too. It´s what it is for everyone who paints or draws. I love how the mind switches gears and one part just sort of grinds to a halt while the other side bursts forward and takes over.
I have to share this wonderful video from TED. I have watched this four times already and shared it with everyone I know. It´s facinating how she describes the duality of our brains through her unfortunate accident, and from a brain researcher no less, wow. It´s an awesome, beautiful and moving story.
Okay before you run off to watch that, did you create anything last week? What did you do to light the spark? Leave me a comment or a link to something. Come on, you must have created something.

I made an apron for a swap and I am so happy with how it turned out! Also, I am so inspired by your flower pics - great reminders that beauty is always nearby. You should get big prints of them and frame them as mementos of your Mexican adventure.
I enjoy your blog, and promise to commetn more!

oh cool! I´m going to check out your work. I hope to be be making some aprons this summer. I´m really excited about it.
um, does a database count? ;)
Been insanely busy at work with a massive TB investigation lately, so my creativity is all related to that.
I guess you could count the landscaping I've been working on. But it doesn't feel like 'creating' so much as manipulating....
I love the paintings. Very cool color combinations.
Gardening and cooking and all those domestic pursuits definitely count for me. In fact it's funny how gardening is both right and left brain--left brain plans out but digging and planting are soooo meditative and right brain.
I think as long as it's a project you're doing and your mind is in that special creative capsule then it's the real deal. Uhh database? Sure why not!
I created burnt pork chops. Does that count? :-\
And where's this TED video? Are my blonde roots showing and the link is right in front of my eyes?
Well, our attempts at guided drawing were not too successful (oh very pretty, Mom. Draw another one.), but we did work on a little placemat project that you can see on the blog.

I have also been quite inspired by your call to creativity lately and picked up a sketchbook and ordered some books for some art journaling -- we'll see how that goes.
Oh, and I've been knitting. For some reason it doesn't feel very creative, though, since I'm following someone else's pattern, but at the same time it is creating something....
