The uglies

I took so few photos of our old house before all the uglies got fixed up that I really regret it. Now I know you have to document the uglies and even publish them on your blog or others to see. They must be shared!

So here for posterity is a super ugly part of our new house,-- our hallway. It's a wallpaper hangover! You may like green and you may be a perfectly nice person, but I hate green in decorating ( I do like green in clothes & jewelry though). I really hate mint the most. Who paints something mint? It's an awful color and it dulls everything around it like furniture and people's skin. And who puts a flourescent light in a green hallway, tell me?

This wallpaper is the bane of my daily existance.

Actually just as I said that I recalled that I favorited a Flickr bedroom photo for Charlotte's room and it was a green bedroom. It was really pretty apple green with black furniture accents. Some greens are acceptable but this is NOT.

haha Deck the halls!

I like green but that hallway gives me a headache just looking at it. It's wallpaper hell!

Uglies are important. They help to make you feel better when it seems like you haven't made any progress. here's a link to some of ours http://cheriseandfredo.blogspot.com/2006/02/kitchen.html

Green isn't too bad. In fact Leons room is two colours of green with rouge basque on the bed covers and the door. I love colours around the house !

That wallpaper is something though. Maybe when you take it off there will be something even worse underneath :)

Yes Chris that is some seriously scary wallpaper you have yourself there.

Whoa. That is pretty ugly. I's like they were trying to make it as ugly as they possibly could. I can't wait to see it once you've taken down that paper. And that light!

uh-oh. Truth is, I liked the way the stairwell looked, but then I guess I'm a sucker for an old-fashioned off-the-wall look (no pun intended), especially with the calico cat going up the stairs! Here's hoping you get all the uglies resolved in 2009!

Minshap you would have liked the owner :) She sprinkled her passion for decorating everywhere like a tomcat. This is just one room.

Hmm... are you all serious? I kind of like it. Reminds me of ivy, a little bit of greenhouse in the stairway...

Well, let's see what you make of it! If you miss the old style you have to bring some evergreen plants, though!
