About four months ago we took off the wallpaper in the dining/living room but since then we haven't done much. We've been trying to decide if we should insulate or not and getting prices on products and estimates on the work. Suddenly this weekend we just said "aww heck let's just paint it!" We were tired of staring at ugly, splotched walls.
There was a lot of prep work. First we had to scrub the walls free of the leftover wallpaper glue and then we filled an insane amount of holes (little old lady + hanging plate collection addiction). Then at one point Seb decided that we should just remove the small corner trimwork because it's ugly and also because it's brown and would be hard to paint without taping off all of it. I had no problem with removing it but when he took it off we lost some big chunks of plaster. More work to do! See this is what having an old house is all about. You set out to fix something and suddenly you have five new projects. No problem though. Seb's getting really good at repairing plaster!
It's going to take another weekend to finish the entire room but I think it will make a big difference. It's amazing what a little paint will do for the morale.

Loic also filled a few holes with plaster this weekend. I installed a wall mounted writing table. It looks like things are coming along.
You'll have to share some more pictures of the inside. It's sounding like a wonderful place to go for creating and letting go.
